The History of the Hawkins Family
Hawkins Funeral Services was founded in 1928 by the late Julian V. Hawkins, Sr., who began his practice in Salem, NJ. Mr. Hawkins, Sr. moved his practice to Philadelphia, PA, where he worked and raised his family while grooming his sons, the late Julian V. Hawkins, Jr. and Leroy Hawkins to continue the “Hallmark of Hawkins Funeral Services”. Julian V. Hawkins, III helped to serve the community by assisting with the insurance programs and limousine service. Christopher A. Hawkins worked as the Supervisor until 2012.
Presently, Blair A. Hawkins, F.D. has broadened the geographical area of service by licensing in New Jersey where the business was founded. He added insurance programs to fund the funerals in advance of need with various Final Expense Carriers. Blair is now a Licensed Family Service Counselor providing merchandise such as quality Urns, Keepsakes, and Jewelry Keepsakes. Blair has working relationships with Monument Companies offering custom made markers from flat to upright. Blair was ordained and is now a Licensed Minister in which the Hawkins Family Service, Inc. provides the Grief Ministry and various community services.
